Endowment Fund

WISCONSIN CHRISTIAN YOUTH CAMP now has an established Endowment Fund. A statement of the fund was adopted by the Board of Directors at the January 30, 1993 meeting and is included in the minutes. A copy of this statement is available on request. The Endowment Fund is kept in a separate account and is managed completely independent from the camp's general operating fund. 

Monies put into the fund will never be spent, but will be invested to provide a source of income to the camp one day soon. Until the fund reaches our goal of $250,000.00 all income from the fund will be returned to the fund to provide faster growth. After the goal is reached only interest and dividends will be spent. The principle and future donations will never be spent.

WHY DO WE NEED AN ENDOWMENT FUND?  Tuition for summer camp provides only about 40% of our operating cost. It is our policy to keep tuition very affordable so anyone who wants to attend summer camp can.  We rely on fund raising and donations to make up the difference. When the endowment fund reaches it goal the income from the fund will help provide operating capital and we can spend more energy providing quality Christian youth camp and less energy fund raising.  A healthy endowment fund will assure the future of WCYC indefinitely.

THE PERPETUAL GIFT.  Dividends from the monies you give to the Endowment Fund will give to the camp year after year after year. This benefits the future of the Church of Christ through our youth.

HOW CAN I GIVE? You can give when you receive a windfall, or by listing the Endowment Fund as a beneficiary on your insurance. The WCYC Endowment Fund can be included in your last will and testament. On any stocks, securities, or certificates of deposit you hold, The Endowment Fund can be listed as a beneficiary. You will continue to receive the interest and dividends as long as you live.  When you no longer need the money it goes into the endowment fund.

As of  September 2007 the endowment fund is approximatley $75,000.00 (the exact value flucuates daily with the market)
